Antique 1895 “Trilby” by George du Maurier – Harper & Brothers Publishers

Beautiful, illustrated Victorian antique copy of Trilby by George du Maurier, published in 1895 by Harper & Brothers, New York. This early edition features an ornate Art Nouveau–style cloth cover with a gilt embossed design depicting angel wings and a heart caught in a spider web.

Trilby was one of the most popular novels of the late 19th century and inspired the term “Svengali.” 

Good vintage condition with average signs of use for age. Flipping through, I noticed one spread with writing (see pic). All pages in tact. Binding is secure.
