Description
ANTIQUE OIL LAMP
Wonderful antique utilitarian honeycomb glass oil lamp - base measures 7" to the top of the burner and chimney measures 7-3/4" tall - total height is about 14-3/4". Featuring a sturdy molded glass base, it is complete with the old metal burner and wick knob - burner is marked WARNING USE ONLY PARAFFIN OR LAMP OIL ~ knob is marked KAADAN LTD. as is the underside - burner still retains the woven fabric wick.
Designed to hold a chimney via the four bracket arms, condition is great - burner knob turns with ease and wick does not appear to have been used. The interior bottom of the glass lamp base has a bit of clouding - I think this can simply be washed out as it looks like dust, but I don't have a tool to reach the interior base of the lamp reservoir. The arms are designed to adjust, depending on the size of the chimney and have quite a bit of play, allowing them to move a bit - once the chimney is seated, the arms remain tight - the chimney must be seated correctly to stand straight. The chimney is early with a notched edge and lots of striations, stretch marks and occlusions - like looking through an antique glass window. I think this is such a wonderful old oil lamp - perfect in any country or farmhouse display!
