Being offered is an antique majolica shell-shaped plate made by Wedgwood, likely from the late 19th century. The MLA Mark on the back dates it from 1886–1912 Majolica is a type of earthenware pottery characterized by its vibrant, colorful glazes applied over a molded surface. The plate features a mottled tortoiseshell glaze in shades of green, ochre, and brown. This particular design was often part of a dessert or seafood service. This plate measures about 8 3/4 wide and just under 9 inches long. I see a few light scratches in the surface on top along with one little chip as shown in the photo That’s very hard to pick up when you’re looking at it.
