Hand-painted with remarkable detail, this five-piece Beatles Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band Russian Matryoshka set transforms pop culture into folk art. Each wooden nesting doll—crafted and painted in Russia in the post-Soviet 1990s—portrays John, Paul, George, and Ringo in their iconic technicolor uniforms, each face rendered with expressive, slightly stylized charm. The tiny 5th figure is believed to represent "Mother Mary" as a nod to their hit song "Let It Be." The largest 6" figure is artist-signed and numbered on the base, reflecting the individual attention given to each small production run. Every set was hand-painted & signed in gold on base, so subtle differences in tone, brushwork, and color placement make each one unique—no two are exactly alike.
