Oberholzer was a prominent psychiatrist and psychoanalyst born in Zweibrücken, Germany. He studied medicine in Zurich and trained under Eugen Bleuler. Oberholzer was an early practitioner of Freudian psychoanalysis and played a significant role in the development of the Rorschach inkblot test. In 1938, he emigrated to New York City, where he continued his practice and contributed to psychoanalytic literature. His professional papers are housed at the Edward G. Miner Library at the University of Rochester.
