Victoria Cross Recipient Captain Harold Auten (1891-1964) Signed, typed 1935 letter regarding his book Q-Boat Adventures. 10.5" X 7.25" tri-fold letter in excellent condition.  

Note: In 1915, Harold Auten was one of the first officers selected for Q-Ship service. He developed the design and tactics of Q-ships. He was awarded the Victoria Cross in 1918 following an action when he was commanding a Q-ship, HMS Stock Force.  

Auten wrote "Q" boat Adventures, the Exploits of the Famous Mystery Ships by a "Q" Boat Commander, published in 1919
