HAWAIIAN AIRLINES
Map of the Hawaiian Islands

A vintage route map poster of the Hawaiian Airlines featuring an impressive DC-9 bearing the airline's logo.

Measures 44 X 17 inches with each route line showing the miles, duration of flight and which aircraft is used. There is no stamped date or copyright, but given the aircraft used, believed to be circa 1970's.

Very rare - only one or two instances of this poster shows up via google search. The poster is in very good, never mounted condition.

Hawaiian Airlines is the largest airline in Hawaii. Began operations on October 6, 1929 as Inter-Island Airways, a subsidiary of Inter-Island Steam Navigation Company. On October 1, 1941, the name was changed to Hawaiian Airlines when the company phased out the older Sikorsky S-38 and Sikorsky S-43 flying boats.

The McDonnell Douglas DC-9 is an American five-abreast, single-aisle aircraft designed by the Douglas Aircraft Company. It was initially produced as the Douglas DC-9 prior to August 1967, after which point the company had merged with McDonnell Aircraft to become McDonnell Douglas. Following the introduction of its first jetliner, the high-capacity DC-8, in 1959, Douglas was interested in producing an aircraft suited to smaller routes.
