1975 Press Photo Anne Marie Jensen to be preseented at The Debutante Assembly
This is an original press photo. At least one New Orleans family will be in New York for New Year's Day: Anne Marie Jensen, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Millard Jensen, will be formally presented the evening of Jan. 1 at The Debutante Assembly and New Year's Ball (along with 29 other demoiselles representing 23 states and 7 foreign countries) in the Grand Ballroom of The Plaza hotel in New York. And prior to the soiree, Mrs. Robert Stith Williams Jr., chairman of the event, will honor the debutantes and their mothers at luncheon at The Plaza, and just to give you an idea of how they do it in New York: The evening will begin with a reception in The Terrace Room for the debs and their mothers. This will be followed by the Grand March of the girls and their escorts into the Grand Ballroom where they will be honored at dinner. The formal presentation will follow, and there will be dancing for the remainder of the night. The debs will wear the traditional white gowns and will carry colonial bouquets in shades of pink (the pink theme will be carried out in the decor, what with pink linen tablecloths, tapers in the candelabra and baskets of pink flowers.) Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches. Photo is dated 12-8-1975.
