Squier by Fender ST-552 USED
Description
Good Condition!
A Squier with the "SQ serial number" is a testament to the earliest days of Fender Japan!
Many people may think that "Squier" was a lower-end Fender model, but during this era, Fender Japan only allowed traditional models to carry the "Fender" logo, and guitars with ambitious specifications such as medium scale, humbucker models, and endlocks were released under the "Squier" name, just like cheaper models.
The top-of-the-line model, the "ST952," had a list price of 95,000 yen, and many of these guitars were ranked higher than average Fender Japan models.
This "ST552" is equipped with two humbuckers, unusual for a Stratocaster, and has matching headstocks in a candy apple color.
Although the specifications differ from those in the catalog, such as the lack of endlocks and an escutcheon mount, this instrument is presumed to be an authentic product.
Enjoy Fujigen's reliable technology and the mature sound that can only be enjoyed today, which explains why Fender and Gibson could no longer ignore Japanese-made copy models!
There are noticeable scratches and dents throughout the guitar, tarnish/rust on metal parts, and paint cracks at the neck joint.
The truss rod works well and has ample room for adjustment in both forward and backward bow directions.
The neck has been adjusted with the rod. It is slightly raised (slightly raised from the joint). There is slight wear on the frets, but there is still enough left and it does not interfere with playability.
