NOTE: I am a watch collector/enthusiast and this watch is from my personal collection. I am not and have never been a watch dealer. Please examine photos carefully as they are an accurate representation of the watch’s condition and form part of the description of the item along with what is written.

One of those if you know you know watches from Seiko. A discontinued classic that we’re likely never going to see from Seiko again. When people talk about excellent value proposition from Seiko from years of past and that no longer exists from the brand today, this is the type of watch they are referring to. Just an amazing all-round piece that is as legible as they come with that traditional and classic dive watch aesthetic we all love. Often nicknamed and christened the “55 Fathoms” because of its uncanny resemblance to the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, it is as recognizable as it is gorgeous. Just like the Fifty-Fathoms, the bezel insert is what makes this watch stand out. The bezel has a blue, wide insert made of painted Hardlex. In most dive watches, the bezel insert is made of aluminum, but with this bezel insert, Seiko achieves a lovely glossy finish similar to that of the Blancpain Fifty Fathoms. The bezel insert really makes for a unique and appealing look, and also reflects the light beautifully. The Hardlex bezel also gives the watch a lovely rich depth that is impossible to achieve with aluminum and very difficult to achieve with ceramic.

This Seiko is in great overall condition with only minor scuffs to the hardlex crystal that I’ve tried my best to capture in the pictures. The case itself is also in great condition with only a couple of minor hairlines/scuffs. The Bracelet itself is fully linked and should accommodate a very large wrist up to 7.5-8 inches. Watch is also keeping good time consistent with the automatic 7S36 calibre movement but cannot attest to accuracy as I do not have access to a time grapher. No known service history.

Scope of delivery is the watch on its original Seiko bracelet. No box or papers.

Cheers and thanks for looking!
