CHARACTERS OF REDUCTIVE GROUPS OVER A FINITE FIELD by  George Lusztig.  Princeton University Press, 1984.  Trade paperback in VERY GOOD condition  - square and sound, unmarked save for the SPS signature and date of purchase - July 1984 - top of ffep, a few squiggles, like three - pretty clean.

THE SAUL-PAUL SIRAG LIBRARY

Here at Deliberate Innocence Books we have been entrusted with the disposition of quantum physicist Saul-Paul Sirag's Math and Physics Library.  Do look him - and the merry band of thinkers and innovators of which he was a part, "The Fundamental Fysiks Group* - up!  (eBay won't allow me to provide outside links.) This collection is extensive, and is in excellent condition. Most volumes are distinguished by his distinct signature and a date of acquisition, supplying provenance. Many exhibit, lightly, his distinct form of notation, and of "highlighting" by tiny lines - passages he found worthy - worthy of squiggles, you might say.  None render the texts beyond easy visual grasp, or readableness. All such "flaws", or enhancements if you will, will be indicated by their degree. I have not found any other marks or flaws, save his own. So they are, at one and the same time, copies quite functional for practical study, like new in all other respects - and memorabilia from one of the "Hippies That Saved Physics"!

*Founded in San Francisco in May 1975 by two physicists, Elizabeth Rauscher and George Weissmann, at the time both graduate students at the University of California, Berkeley. The group held informal discussions on Friday afternoons to explore the philosophical implications of quantum theory. Leading members included Fritjof Capra, John Clauser, Philippe Eberhard, Nick Herbert, Jack Sarfatti, Saul-Paul Sirag, Henry Stapp, and Fred Alan Wolf.
