Vintage, 1992, 15" x 11" Color, Pictorial Map Poster :

Castles of Britain

by Denis Mason Jones and Mary Mason Jones of Leeds, England.

This is an original, vintage Pictorial Map Poster.   It measures about 15 inches long by 11 inches wide.  Map is currently mounted inside a 16.5" x 12.5" wood frame. To decrease shipping costs, it will easily be removed and shipped to the winning buyer without the frame.

The poster is signed by the artists at the lower-right corner (see pics). It states: "A Heritage Map by Denis and Mary Mason Jones, Leeds, England, DMJ, 1992".

Denis Mason Jones (1918 -- 2010) was a British architect, mapmaker and artist from Leeds, England. Mary Mason Jones (1924 -- 2020) was a medical doctor, married to Denis.

The center of the poster has a map of castle-locations. The poster shows about 30 castles of England and Scotland. Each castle includes a pictorial rendering, shield, and description.  

The poster is finished in numerous colors.  The borders are all decorated.
