THV ‘Eeezy Reins’

THV Eeezy Reins™, designed by BALANCE, provide a wonderful learning/teaching tool for riders of all ages, all levels and all disciplines.  The removable, elastic, secondary reins make them practical, easy and adaptable to use.  The reins themselves are long enough for all sizes of horses and are made from a combination of high quality leather and plain, continental webbing.  As these reins would normally be used for training rather than competing, they are only available in brown.

Until the horse is able to maintain a high level of consistent self-carriage and balance whilst carrying a rider, most horses seem to appreciate/need support from a constructive and sympathetic rein contact, providing the contact has the following qualities: 

Positive

Elastic

Attentive

Consistent

Equal

(Any bit/noseband/bitless bridle must also be a comfortable interface for the horse).

BALANCE Eeezy Reins™ can help riders to be more confident about exploring a range of feels in the rein contact, as they find what helps the horse most.

Choosing the elastics.

The FIRM elastics provide a positive (connected) feel and seem to be preferred by most horses, so the Eeezy Reins™ are always sold with FIRM elastics.

However, the SOFT elastics are also available and may be helpful in the following situations, perhaps before moving to the FIRM elastics once confidence and correctness are regained:

-       If you are working with a horse who tends to drop behind the vertical or is fearful of the rein contact

-       If the rider has been trained to fear or avoid using a rein contact

If using a bit, these reins usually pair beautifully with the THV Fulmer Snaffle Bit.
