THV Fulmer Snaffle Bit

A beautifully designed bit, refined by BALANCE, containing several important features that enable it to sit quietly and comfortably in the horse’s mouth, avoiding nutcracker action on the tongue, pressure on the roof of the mouth and harsh pressure on the bars:

-       Well curved mouth pieces

-       A very small joint

-       Generous thickness of mouthpiece

-       Bit keepers

Both a gentle bit for novice riders and a sophisticated training tool for more experienced riders, it is comfortable enough for the horse to lean on for support when needed.  Rather than forcing the horse to offer an artificially light contact through inflicting pain or discomfort, this bit gives the rider clear and invaluable feedback (feel-back) regarding the horse’s balance, enabling them to help the horse instead.  

It is handmade here in the UK from a mixture of Copper and Nickel, which has high strength and corrosion resistance. It has a warmer feel than Stainless Steel and a lot of horses seem to respond well to alloys that contain copper.

Bit keepers are available in Black or Brown but please note the Brown is very dark and similar to Black - See Photos for comparison
