His grandmother born in 1888 nicknamed "Nell " presented him with this kettle when she was 96 years old. "This Grandma Copper Kettle is designed with a history and love brought back to life with Japanese craftsmanship." MADE IN JAPAN - Pursuing usability and durability The lid is designed with a "sharpness stopper" treatment to prevent it from coming off easily when tilting the kettle. The angle of the spout helps prevent dripping ensuring good drainage. The point where the body meets the mouth is riveted in the original style and further reinforced with soldering. Two stoppers are provided on the body to prevent the handle from touching the body when held vertically and becoming hot. The part connecting the handle to the body is made of high-strength brass and Fireside's logo is engraved as a confidence mark on the product. The inner side of the auxiliary handle is designed with a hollow tube for added grip and ease of use. As a quality mark the bottom of the kettle is engraved with "MADE IN JAPAN" and a portrait of Nell from whom the product name is derived. To transform a single copper sheet into a functional tool requires 80 processes involving over 20 artisans. By leveraging their expertise passing on the baton and connecting artisanal skills the kettle takes shape.
