VINTAGE MADONNA STATUE

Beautiful vintage hand carved folk art Madonna statue measuring about 6" in size. Standing on a block base, she is elegant and streamlined - has a mid-century modern feel - complete with halo, flowing hair and praying hands in long robe, she stands on a carved ball as shown. My Dad carved this back in the 1950s or 1960s when he was really into whittling - you can see all the tiny individual carving marks - it is a wonderful piece.

Condition is lovely with several tiny nicks as shown - does not detract a bit - please note, this is carved from a single piece of wood - looks like soft pine to me. Lovely addition to any collection!
