The Wouxun KG-XS20H Tri-Band Base/Mobile Amateur Radio combines cutting-edge functionality with a rugged design ideal for modern ham enthusiasts. Designed for both base station and mobile use, this versatile transceiver covers three popular amateur bands – 1.25 meters, 2 meters, and 70 centimeters – ensuring reliable simplex communications and smooth repeater operation.

Of course, the XS20H is loaded with features, some of which are standard on other ham mobiles, and others that aren't. These include 999 programmable memory channels, simultaneous dual channel receive, channel and frequency modes, wide and narrow bandwidth options, and support for both standard and non-standard CTCSS/DCS tones.and codes, plus split tones and tone scan. It has channel scan, priority channel scanning, and the ability to create up to 10 scan groups.

Other features include group call, all call and select call options, compander, scrambler, DTMF encode and decode, high and low power selectivity, single tone pulse frequency, reverse frequency, talk around, an SOS function, English voice prompts and a stopwatch timer.

The KG-XS20H is as functional outside the case as it is within. It sports a full color dual channel LCD display that's easy on the eyes. The display has four color themes. It also features a Night Mode option that can be activated by a programmable key. It can display one or both A and B areas of the radio, as well as channel names, numbers or frequencies, plus Caller ID and info on vehicle voltage. A powerful speaker is built into the top of the unit, with ample volume to be heard above noise on the road. A 3.5mm jack on the back of the radio allows you to connect an external speaker as needed.

The KG-XS20H includes a handheld speaker mic with a full DTMF keypad. It has TX and RX LED indicators and a volume knob for independent control of the audio on the front of the speaker mic. The keypad on the mic is also backlit for easier operation in the dark.

It goes without saying that the Wouxun XS20H is also fully PC programmable, but we'll say it anyway. The radio also includes two programmable function keys that can be customized either with the programming software or directly from the menu on the radio itself. One key is located on the front panel of the radio, the other on the side of the hand speaker microphone. Each can be independently programmed to activate two specific features, one with a short press of the key, the second with a long press.

In addition to its primary function as a mobile radio, the KG-XS20H can also be powered by an optional Wouxun Power Supply (sold separately) to turn your amateur mobile receiver into a fully operational ham base station! How's that for versatility?
