Lot of 10 original 1880 “Department of Collection – City of Brooklyn” tax receipts, issued under Collector James Tanner. Each features handwritten street names, property assessments, stamps, and dates. These antique documents pre-date the consolidation of Brooklyn into NYC (1898) and represent early public infrastructure financing (“Title of Improvement” bills). Streets include Union St. and others. Condition is generally good—folds and toning consistent with age. Fascinating piece of municipal and urban development history. 🗂️ Great for: • Ephemera collectors • Brooklyn historians • Vintage decor (frameable!) • Teaching NYC municipal history Shipped securely from Ronkonkoma Rare Coins & Books.
