From the Muromachi period Gifu prefecture's Higashi-no region has been one of Japan's top Hinoki cypress producing areas. The high-quality "Higashi-no Hinoki" produced here close to the northern limit of Hinoki's growth area is a well-known brand wood. Its faint pink hue and glossy texture make it suitable for high-quality kamidana (household Shinto altars) products.

Combining this high-quality Hinoki wood with excellent woodworking skills we have the beautiful "Beautiful Higashi-no Hinoki" series of kamidana. Despite the simple design it stands out as a high-class line. This rectangular shallow kamidana breaks away from the traditional shrine design featuring a unique altar with a deep red curtain and decorative lattice window creating an elegant atmosphere. It also has a functional structure that makes it easy to store large omamori (amulets).
