A 9 1/2 inch tall quart sized embossed antique BUTTE MONTANA milk bottle. It is quite hard to find a Montana milk bottle that has both the town and the state embossed on them. Most of them that were embossed were just Mavericks. This is an ornate example with embossed grips all around the neck. It is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE embossed bottle, dating back to very early 1900.
- Bottle embossed: "WESTERN MILK AND CREAM CO. / PASTEURIZED / PHONE 2-3386 / BUTTE, MONT." in a slug plate and on the back heel it says "SEALED 1-11-14".
- Condition: Bottle is in sparkling clean condition. It has one ice pick sliver of glass missing from the very top of the lip where someone long ago pried the cardboard cap up with an ice pick and a flat shallow sliver of glass popped out. Otherwise it is in PRISTINE SPARKLING CLEAN condition. PLEASE see pictures for idea of overall appearance/condition.
- Age: An ORIGINAL ANTIQUE blown-glass (ABM) bottle ca. early-1900's.

It has always been difficult to find a quart embossed milk bottle that is embossed from MONTANA, especially one that actually has the word MILK embossed on it. This bottle was from the old WESTERN MILK & CREAM CO and most of the bottles they put out do NOT have BUTTE or MONTANA embossed on them. As a matter of fact, it is quite difficult to find a Montana milk bottle that has both the town and the state embossed on it.
