A revelatory archival release from Light In The Attic, Words & Music, May 1965 captures Lou Reed’s earliest known demos—raw, intimate, and pre-Velvet Underground. Recorded with John Cale, these lo-fi tapes showcase Reed’s lyrical genius in embryonic form, including early versions of “Heroin,” “I’m Waiting for the Man,” and “Pale Blue Eyes.” Pressed on black vinyl and housed in deluxe packaging, this 2022 release is essential for Reed devotees and collectors of proto-art rock.
