The American First Day Cover Society (AFDCS) is a dedicated, volunteer-driven nonprofit organization that supports the vibrant community of First Day Cover collectors, cachetmakers, and dealers. Since its founding in 1955, the AFDCS has grown to include nearly 1100 active members, many of whom create and design their own cacheted FDCs.

The Society hosts an annual national convention called Americover, maintains an extensive historical archive, and publishes a bi-monthly journal, First Days, packed with news, insights, and educational content—eight issues each year.
