VTG 40s Smith Crafted Chicago Metal Tin | Paradise Fruit Cake Ward Baking Co | Wedgewood Blue & White | Embossed Grecian Motif | MCM Art Deco

Growing up Grandma used this vintage round metal tin to bring us a homemade fruit cake every year for Christmas… I used it to store buttons and sewing supplies… What could you repurpose this vintage tin container as… a cookie tin, storage canister, or brocante style home decor?

This 1940s vintage tin was produced by Smith Crafted Chicago and originally contained Paradise Fruit Cake from the Ward Baking Co. N.Y.  It features a  blue / gray color inspired by Wedgewood Jasperware, with antique white embossed grecian motif around the outside and a Bird of Paradise on the lid.

~ Marked on the bottom: “Smith Crafted Chicago”.
~ Marked on the inside of the lid: “Paradise Fruit Cake - Ward Baking Co. New York”.
