Andersen's Fairy Tales, R. Worthington (1884). Published just six years after his death, this collection by Danish author Hans Christian Anderson includes 50 of his classic fairy tales. Some are instantly recognizable, such as The Emperor's New Clothes, Thumbelina, and The Ugly Duckling. Others provide a deeper look into Andersen's long-revered lessons of virtue and resilience for children and adults. This 120-year old book is sturdy and intact, but in delicate condition.  The beautifully illustrations that are adhered to the cover boards have small rips, tears, and show signs of general deterioration.  The heavy cardboard covers are eroded along the top and bottom corners. The hinges are creased, but intact and the binding is secure. The inside covers and early pages are moderately browned.  The interior pages are clean and unmarked.
