The celluloid used here resembles the striated celluloids used for the Parker Vacumatic. It even has semi-transparent strips alternating with opaque, slightly pearlescent ones. Platinum made this material by rolling thin celluloid sheets, rather than by turning celluloid rods on lathes. The former saves money and manpower, but the pen ends up with a distinct line where the edges of the sheet meet.


No box and no papers. Previously used and inked. Please note that the yellow gold trimming is almost entirely gone (see photos) both on the clip and the band. Aside from that the pen is quite well preserved with an enjoyable Music nib and a mesmerising material.
