"This scrapbook consists of two parts. The principal portion is a Random History of Cincinnati related by scribes of her daily living: her newspapers.
The preliminary part of the book includes a general "once over" of the origin and growth of our local newspapers themselves, captioned: "Some Notes on our Principal Source Material," followed by facsimile reproductions of various papers and items discussed in the "Notes," and finally a chronological listing, and reproductions of the mastheads of the major papers which have appeared and disappeared on our city's journalistic horizon."
