1990 Press Photo Sonoco worker Wilma Levy measures bottle necks in Houston

This is an original press photo. Sonoco Graham Company - Houston. Wilma Levy measures the necks of Texaco transmission fluid bottles at Sonoco Graham Company's Houston plant. The plant uses bottles made partially of recycled plastic to package Texaco's Havoline motor oil. The high-density polyethylene bottles now contain about 15 percent recycled plastic, but the companies hope to raise the recycled portion to 50 percent. Sonoco Graham began using recycled plastic at its blow modeling plant in New Jersey, buy it plans to expand it to plants in Los Angeles and Kansas City as early as next month.
