This vintage book: "Ten Million Acres of Timber: The Remarkable Story of Forest production in the Maine Forestry District (1909- 1972) is signed by Austin Wilkins. Wilkins author this book and he was also a Maine Forest Commissioner from 1958 to 1972.

Also accompanying this book are three fabulous vintage main maps pertaining to the lumber industry. The maps detail specifics to the Maine are in the 1970s relating to forestry and lands. They detail information such as public lands, and reserve lands. One map details a panoramic view, presumable for fire tower purposes. Three maps in total. They are folded in the back of the book and placed in a folder attached to the back cover. The word "maps" inked in above the folder.

There are some ink marks, impacting the first nine pages and the back cover page of the book, see pictures. And an indentation / pierce on the spine (front cover). The binding is tight, and this vintage book is otherwise good condition

This antique and collectible book is a unique piece for any book collector or enthusiast, offering a glimpse into the history and geography of Maine through the author's signature and included maps. The book holds sentimental value and historical significance, making it a coveted item for those interested in rare and sought-after pieces.

Also, the name, Henry W. Saunders is under the inside fly page. The Saunder Brothers had a mill in Maine, which I happily discovered when reviewing other lumber books that I sourced at the same time in place

This is a rare and special find.
