Originally released in 1964, Monk is the fourth studio album Thelonious Monk recorded for Columbia Records, featuring his classic quartet: Charlie Rouse (tenor sax), Larry Gales (bass), and Ben Riley (drums). This 60th anniversary edition is pressed on silver & black marbled vinyl, limited to 1,500 individually numbered copies, and includes liner notes by Bill Evans. The album blends Monk’s originals with jazz standards, including tributes to Pannonica de Koenigswarter and producer Teo Macero.
