Topper | 1970 | Ron #1208 | Rare Dancing Ron in Original Fringe Outfit – Dawn’s Grooviest Friend

Offered here is one of the rarest characters from the original Dawn doll line: Topper’s Dancing Ron, released in 1970 and produced for only a short time. As Dawn’s funky male friend, Ron brought movement and mod fashion to the miniature runway with his built-in dancing mechanism—lift his arms, and he twists at the waist like he’s grooving at a retro rooftop party.

Ron stands 6.5 inches tall with molded light-brown hair, vivid blue painted eyes, and crisp facial detail. He’s marked “Hong Kong” on the back and retains full limb movement with a smoothly functioning dance action. The vinyl is clean with no cracks or staining, and his limbs pose with ease. There is a visible seam separation along the spine—common in this sculpt—which does not affect functionality. A pinpoint ink mark is noted on one arm, but overall presentation remains strong.

He comes dressed in his original outfit #1208: a striped multicolor fringe shirt and matching green flared pants. The set is complete and undeniably charming, though clearly well-loved. The shirt shows fabric wear, fraying, and minor holes along the interior. Both closures are missing. The pants show gentle fading and a few frayed threads at the hems. Despite condition, this ensemble remains one of the hardest to find for any Ron figure and displays well with care.

Dancing Ron is a cult favorite among Topper collectors and nearly impossible to find today with his outfit and mechanism intact. He’s more than a doll—he’s a groovy survivor from the golden age of mini mod fashion.

Make room in your display case—this original 1970 Topper Dancing Ron won’t dance by again anytime soon.
