Backpacks 3-IN-1 5G CC1101 NRF24 Module Security Testing IoT Research Opensource Development for Flipper Zero
Module Composition and Core Functions:
- 5G Sub-GHz module: BW16 module (RTL8720DN, supports 5G and 2.4G), has been flashed with 5G WiFi deauth-for-Flipper zero firmware, supports 5Gwifi deauth.fap, view GITHUB for details.
- CC1101: Built-in antenna, high-performance Sub-GHz RF chip, covering 300-928MHz frequency band, supporting multiple modulation modes (ASK/OOK/FSK), suitable for IoT device interaction.
- NRF24: 2.4GHz RF module, commonly used for wireless key and mouse signal sniffing/playback.
Typical Applications:
- Security testing: sniffing/replaying wireless access control and remote control signals.
- Research on the Internet of Things: interacting with smart home devices such as light bulbs and sensors.
- Educational experiment: learning wireless communication protocols (5.8G, 2.4G, BLE).
Features:

- Open source support: for Flipper Zero community provides firmware extensions (such as custom frequency band configuration).
- GPIO: BW16 module uses GPIO TX and GPIO RX, CC1101 and NRF24 can be independently enabled, and GPIO interfaces can be allocated as needed. Referring to the mntm firmware, GPIO A4 is selected for CC1101, and GPIO A7 is selected for NRF24.
Precaution:
- Compliance: some frequency bands are required to comply with local radio regulations.
- Technical threshold: support some open-source apps, and basic RF knowledge (such as code writing, signal decoding, frequency band selection, firmware compilation) is required to customize features. If you want to rewrite BW16, please press and hold the boot button before powering on the module, and flash through TX RX 3.3 GND.
