Vintage School Wall Chart “Temple of Jerusalem in New Testament Times” | Biblical Temple Poster | Religious Classroom Wall Art 1930–1950
Imagine seeing the Temple of Jerusalem as it may have looked during the time of Jesus. This vintage school wall chart blends religious depth with visual beauty. Originating from Dutch Christian education in the 20th century and printed in vibrant colors on canvas. Ideal for lovers of historic illustrations, biblical artifacts, or religious wall art. A true collector’s piece that brings the past to life.
About the Maker:
This wall chart is based on the work of 19th-century German archaeologist Conrad Schick (1822–1901), a pioneer in Jerusalem's topography. The lithography was done by “De IJssel” printers in Deventer, and the chart was published by C.A. Westera, located in Baarn and Nijmegen. The style and print suggest a production period between circa 1930 and 1950. Schick’s reconstruction of Herod’s Temple remains widely praised for its historical accuracy.
Use and Decoration:
Originally used in Dutch Christian schools, Sunday schools, and catechism classes, this chart served as a visual tool to explain New Testament stories. Today, it makes for a striking decorative piece in a vintage interior, prayer room, or theological library. The chart depicts key biblical locations like the Court of the Women, the Altar of Burnt Offering, and the Bridge over the Kidron Valley. The combination of historical architecture and warm tones makes this an ideal conversation piece for your home or study.
Gift Suggestions:
Looking for a unique gift for a theologian, pastor, teacher, collector of biblical items, or someone passionate about religious history? This chart is a perfect birthday gift, ordination present, graduation token, or housewarming gift for lovers of vintage maps, sacred art, or Christian heritage. A meaningful gift that’s sure to inspire and delight.
