TimTim Coffee (Coffea sp.) is originally developed from a cross involving Bourbon and Typica lines, and it became prominent in Indonesia, especially in Aceh, for its adaptability and disease resistance. The plant is relatively compact, with strong branches and moderate internode length, making it suitable for highland cultivation. TimTim produces medium-sized beans that result in a cup with medium acidity, clean body, and a balanced flavor profile. The taste often features notes of mild spice, dried fruit, and sweet chocolate, influenced by the volcanic soil and elevation of its growing regions. Its aroma is smooth and subtle, typically carrying hints of caramel and floral overtones. The cultivar is moderately resistant to coffee leaf rust and performs well in cool, high-altitude environments. It is one of the standard varieties in many Arabica coffee plantations in Sumatra due to its stability and cup quality. The uniform ripening of cherries also facilitates more efficient harvesting. TimTim plays an important role in regional blends known for their depth and complexity.
