Leather bound book of first volume of The Scots Magazine with some shelf wear. Leather has wear to ask edges and curves, with grazing to edges, corners and spine ends, some pieces missing adjacent to spine, light scratching to all sides. Embossed title and gilt decoration to spine remain visible, also embossed decoration to front and back boards. Back board is only attached by back page, and attachment is very fragile.
Text block is in good condition. Just page has been repaired with tape along hinge- see photo. Pages have occasional smudge or patch of light foxing, otherwise are in very good condition, clean and intact with sound hinges. Overall condition of this beautiful book is very good.
