I have a Butterick pattern # 5893 that makes easy, loose-fitting shorts and pants. The package contains instructions and patterns for the following: 

• Loose-fitting shorts or pants have elasticized waistband, pocket variations and narrow hem. A, B: Straight-legged, cut on crosswise grain. C: Side slits. C, D: Flared.

It is a misses' sizes Extra-Small (4-6), Small (8-10) and Medium (12-14). This is an out of production, uncut pattern.
