This useful, carefully hand-crafted leather travel jewelry case was made by the W.G. Walz Company; it is embossed on the inside with the words "Hand Carved, W.G. Walz Company, Mexico City". It had to have been made prior to 1913, since W.G. Walz died in that year and had closed all of his businesses in Mexico a few years before that. 

All surfaces of the outside of the case are nicely tooled. The top features the Mexican eagle with a snake in its mouth, perched on a cactus, with laurel branches on each side. The word "Mexico" is in the center, right under the cactus. Below all of this is an unfurled scroll.

The case fastens on the outside with a snap. On the inside, one flat surface perhaps was dedicated to tie pins (?), while the two compartments could hold any kind of jewelry.
