The key here is the early ERIK LARSEN comic VENTURE #1 from AC Comics in 1986. By my math, this is Larsen's 12th comic ever published. It's pretty standard super-hero tropes, with pretty standard super-hero art. This issue also has early Vic Bridges art, who later did a lot of work on Savage Dragon spin-off titles. It also has a hilariously named character in the back-up story: Mike Nesmith. I don't understand why this was the approach. Hey, hey, we're the funkees.

I'm also throwing in an issue of Outsiders, from Larsen's first year working for Marvel and DC, 1987. I think this is his 4th published DC book ever.

Both of these are not very good comics, but they are classic pieces of comics history from a future Image superstar!
