UPDATE: I just learned that the Pablo Escobar Museum discussed in my description below was closed by Colombian authorities on 22 March 2024 and many of the artifacts it contained were seized. It was subsequently demolished in December 2024. There is no longer a reliable way to obtain the signed photos and bills I am listing. See my original description below:
Several years ago, my brother visited one of the last known hideouts and former residences of Pablo Escobar in Medellin, Colombia. In fact, Pablo celebrated his birthday in this hideout the day before he was killed in a shootout with Colombian police. The home is currently occupied by Roberto Escobar, Pablo's brother and the former accountant of the Medellin Drug Cartel. Roberto operates a "museum" at the residence, which is more often closed than open by the Colombian police (reportedly due to a lack of proper permits). My brother was visiting Medellin in April of 2022 and was able to get into the museum.
While at the museum, my brother purchased this reprint photo and had it signed and fingerprinted by Roberto. This photo is one of very few known images of Pablo and Roberto together in the same picture. It depicts Pablo at the baptism of his niece Laura when she was 3 months old. Pablo was named as Laura's godfather on the baptismal certificate. From left to right, the photo shows Pablo Escobar, Roberto Escobar, unnamed nun, Laura Escobar Urquijo (daughter of Roberto), Ligia Urquijo (Roberto's first wife), and Nicolas Escobar (son of Roberto). The original photo was taken on 25 June 1978.
The photo is printed on 8 1/2" x 11" photo paper, as it was obtained from the museum. My brother witnessed Roberto sign and fingerprint the photo. The photo also has a special bear stamp with his name "ROBERTO ESCOBAR GAVIRIA" and "OSITTO" (only a portion is legible), which represents his nickname "El Osito" (Little Bear). The last picture in this listing shows Roberto signing one of the photos my brother purchased (he signed several for him). If requested, I will also send the buyer a photo and short video of Roberto signing one of these photos via email after the purchase.
Roberto de Jesús Escobar Gaviria (born January 13, 1947), nicknamed El Osito (Little Bear), was the brother of drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, and is the closest living relative of Pablo, except for his son Juan Pablo. Roberto was the former accountant of the Medellin Cartel, which was responsible for up to 80 percent of the cocaine smuggled into the United States and reportedly brought in $420 million per week in revenue. For his part in the operations of the Medellin Cartel, Roberto was imprisoned. He escaped with his brother in July 1992 but surrendered to authorities a year later. On December 18, 1993, while still in prison, he was blinded in one eye by a letter bomb sent by Los Pepes, a paramilitary group funded by the Cali Cartel. After more than 10 years, he was released from prison, and he now lives in the residence last occupied by Pablo before he was killed by the Colombian Search Bloc in 1993.
This photo is GUARANTEED to be hand signed and fingerprinted by Roberto Escobar. There is no Certificate of Authenticity because Roberto considers his fingerprint to be better than a COA. As I mentioned earlier, this photo was obtained directly from Roberto in April of 2022. If you have any concerns regarding the authenticity of these items, please feel free to check out my positive feedback and buy with confidence from a trusted seller.
Condition of this Roberto Escobar signed photo is EXCELLENT. The photo has been well protected in an envelope since it was obtained. The resolution is a bit fuzzy since it was not printed from a first-generation image, but it's one of the original photos sold by Roberto at the museum. This photo displays well and would make a fine addition to any Narcos memorabilia collection. Please take a close look at the many photos I've provided and judge condition for yourself. I'm confident you'll be very pleased with this purchase.
If you collect crime-related historical memorabilia or you're a fan of the Netflix series "Narcos", don't miss your opportunity to bid on this offering. These signed photos were only available to the few people who were able to gain access to Roberto's "museum". This particular image is very uncommon. My BUY IT NOW price of only $89 with FREE SHIPPING is a bargain for this rare item. So, buy it now before someone else beats you to the deal!
