The backstory of the Orange Bird is tied to the development of the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. In the early 1970s, Disney was looking for ways to promote Florida citrus products within the park. They partnered with the Florida Citrus Commission, and the Orange Bird was born as part of this promotional campaign. The character's design was created by Disney animator Bob Moore, and its cheerful, orange-colored appearance with a round body and a prominent orange for a head made it instantly recognizable. The Orange Bird became a symbol of the Sunshine State and was featured in various marketing materials, merchandise, and even a short animated film produced by Disney.
