This oil is extracted from a wild and organic source of the true Oregano of the herb garden. It is a member of the mint family. However, Oregano essential oil is very different from what you might put in your pizza sauce.
Our oil is sourced from Mediterranean Oregano plants and only the flowering tops are used to extract the active ingredients by steam distillation. It takes over 1000Kg to produce 1Kg of essential oil. Oregano oil is valued as the source of Carvacrol [also known as cymophenol, C6H3(CH3)(OH)C3H7] which is a monoterpenoid phenol.It has a very ancient and revered medical reputation. Oregano oil is a pale golden colour that darkens with age.
