Very Rare Vintage Sadler Floral Bouquet 1550 Teapot - HTF Design 1937+ 32oz?
This is a hard design/pattern to come by. It is very popular among collectors!!
Selling for my aunt who inherited from her mother. Her mother kept this in her dining room cabinet once she bought when it first came out. She never used. The only time she took it out was to clean her cabinet. When my aunt was given this, she did the same thing. She put it in her cabinet. No one else has touched this except when she gave this to me to sell for her.
The only issue I see is a very tiny chip on the side of the spout. I asked my aunt about it, and she said that when her mother took it out to clean the cabinet, she accidently put it next to another teapot to quickly and it clanged against it.
Teapot:
-No: Cracks or repairs.
-Tiny chip on the outside of the spout. I asked an antique store owner/seller what can be done to fix it, and she said you could use a gold metallic pen or liquid gold leaf restoring metallic paint.
-Both the outside and inside of the teapot have specks inside the glaze. A lot of the Sadler Teapots that were made back then had them. Especially the ones that were hand dipped. This one was done that way. You can tell by the glaze marks on the inside.
-The teapot has gold accents all over that was applied by hand-painting and possibly fired in as well(?). In areas it looks like it's coming off. It is not. It was painted on like that. Some areas have light ware (very light scratches in the gold and bumps). My aunt says it was like that when her mother had it.
-The bottom looks a little dirty around the edges.
-The lid is in one piece.
-Overall, the teapot is in New / Excellent/Great Condition for being in a cabinet and never used all these years.
-See Pics to Verify.
NO BOX:
-Her mother did not save the box.
Will list as Used because it was handed down to my aunt. Both my aunt and her mother never used.
Will Pack with Care:
-I have wrapped both pieces in a cloth as well as bubble wrap.
-I have place large sheets of bubble wrap on all sides inside the box to help support and protect the teapot.
-It is very well packed.
Thank you for taking the time to read and view the description of this beloved Teapot.
