This is an AMAZING VINTAGE set of hand painted pictorial porcelain plates from J&G Meakin from the 1940s/1950s.  These plates are 6.75 inches square, and are perfect for salad, dessert, side dishes, or just for display.  Each plate features a different J&G Meakin pictorial "Sol" pattern.  The patterns are "Persian Garden," "Isle of Capri," "The Old Days," and "Old England."  Each is marked on the back with the J&G Meakin SOL mark and the name of the pattern.  Each plate was hand painted and have filigree embellishments on each corner, as well as gold around the edges.  This set is BEAUTIFUL and in AMAZING CONDITION!  There are no chips, cracks, scratches or discoloration.  There are areas of crazing, often long lines, on the front and back of a few of the plates (see photos).
