The book presents the material of many years of scientific research work on the restoration of long-forgotten stitches, in particular, Gorodok, curly, twisted, various types of smooth and others, and schematically shows the sequence of the process of their execution.
The author's method of studying Ukrainian embroidery is based not only on fixing, mapping embroidery as a phenomenon of art, but also on a deep study of the embroidery process based on museum classical samples and confirmation by ancient people of different regions of Ukraine.
In the second edition of the book, the material has been significantly expanded. Technical drawings have been improved, the book has been supplemented with new studies, most of which are published for the first time.
The presentation is presented in accessible language and is recommended for teachers and students of art schools, high school students, researchers of the art of Ukrainian embroidery, and everyone who is interested in and loves folk art.
The work on this topic is not exhaustive and awaits future researchers.
