Lace Agate? Banded Onyx Beautiful Large Specimen 23.6 Pounds
 
This is a beautiful rough cut stone section that weighs about 23.6 pounds on an electronic postal scale. Please see the pictures for the size because it is laid next to a ruler. It looks like there is a lot going on with this stone, and there are also some small natural holes in it, and not sure if there are crystals inside. Who knows what is inside of this specimen. The last picture is just a reference of one that sold and was sliced open and not part of this listing.
 
Please let me explain by saying that I know nothing about exotic stone so you are buying what is pictured and I have added information in the listing and it looks like the same type of stone that I am selling. I also have no idea what part of the world that it came from. If anyone recognizes it then I will add that information to the listing. It had come out of a multi million dollar lake home in the area. I have heard that it could be from Mexico or Arizona. They had the entire fireplace constructed out of it, and the new owner had other plans. I had bought it from a stone mason who dismantled the fireplace and he had never seen it before and the stone supply company did not know what it was either. None of it is polished and I simply moistened it with some water to show the colors and patterns a little better. There are some of them that were cut for the hearth seat and all the rest of them are raw stone. Quite a few of them might have a little of the mortar on them yet. Please check out the pictures. I will be listing more depending on interest.
I am including a photo of one of the stones that I had sold and the buyer sent me a picture of what that one looked like when they sliced it. Obviously, every stone is going to be different but just an idea of one of them. That photo is for reference only..

 I AM NOT AN EXPERT ON ALL OF THIS COOL OLD STUFF!!!!!!! I try to take good pictures and do the best that I can to describe my items with my limited knowledge. Part of the fun of passing on some of the really odd items is that over the years I have had a number of buyers get back in touch with me and let me know that my items were being featured in their books and a few of them have been the only items know to exist. Nobody in that field had ever seen my item before and my item was not to be found in any book until I sold it to the author. ------ If you see a very nice item in my listing and do not see any words like perfect or mint condition, please understand that it has nothing to do with the quality of the item that is listed. Many items qualify for the use of those terms but, we have found that there are a few buyers who believe that there has never been an item made that will qualify for their definition of perfect. Read my feedback you will simply find a lot of buyers who say that the item is nicer than expected. You be the judge.
