Coconut Shell Vertical 4 Stringed Instrument.
An unusual 4 stringed instrument,
we haven't been able to determine what it is.
The main body is made from a coconut shell,
with a curved neck supporting 4 strings,
unusually mounted vertically on the sound board,
the front is decorated with spot paintwork of a snake,
reminiscent of traditional Australian or African painting.
The strings are nylon but unknown if they are original.
Measures approximately 70 cm's (27.5") in length.
Instrument plays fine but there is some damage,
slight crack to the edge coconut shell,
and separation at the edge of the soundboard,
otherwise in good condition,
as shown in the pictures.
All proceeds from this sale go to charity,
supporting the work of the Devon Air Ambulance.
