What is a Schiffli embroidered patch? Schiffli loom embroidery was a technology used for nearly a hundred years, until mostly replaced by digital multihead machines. The looms were driven by paper punchcard, and the thread is looser, giving a vibrant dimension and texture to the design.  Schiffli embroidery has a unique "glow" compared to modern embroidery.
