VINTAGE WOODCUT BLOCK PRINT

Interesting and unusual vintage black and white framed under glass original woodcut or block print measuring about 15" wide by 13" tall -- actual art is about 9-3/4" tall by 6-3/4" wide. Featuring a wonderfully detailed image of THE CLOCK TOWER, ROSLYN, L.I., it is pencil signed HENRY R. DIAMOND - his initials are reverse printed on the lower right corner. Depicting a view of this famous clock tower in Long Island, complete with buildings and weeping willow tree.

Mounted under a wide cream matte, wood frame is simple and elegant, complimenting the artwork. Diamond (1896-1989) produced American modern wood cut and block images in the early 20th century - this piece dates to around 1940. Condition is excellent - image is crisp with no fading or damage - there is a hint of frame wear - back bears the original framer's label from CT. A wonderful piece by this talented artist - lovely addition to any collection or display!
