• ITEM DETAILS: This is a very rare first edition of the highly sought after H.C. Randall-Stevens work 'The Book of Truth or The Book of Osiris' published by Rider & Co of Paternoster Row, London. It's so scarce in fact that I can't find even a mention of another example, let alone a photo or an exact publication date for the first edition, the closest I found being the second edition which was published in 1927. Given that the illustrations in the book are dated 1925, it's safe to assume this edition was printed within a year either side of 1926. You will have noticed the normal handling wear and uneven sunlight fading to the hard cover where it was apparently untouched on a shelf among other books for a long time, but aside from this it's in extemely sound, bright and robust condition with no signs of deterioration with a nice, tight binding and perfectly intact spine. Overall it's an extremely sound, bright and very useable copy that's perfectly happy to be handled and read with no stains, damage, repairs or other significant issues. Everything is exactly as you see it in the photos and it comes from a smoke free home.
