ABOUT 1095 HIGH CARBON STEEL 

1095 High Carbon steel has very high carbon content and very popular knife making steel.

1095 steel tends to have a higher degree of hardness. 1095 steel can maintain an edge for a long time due to its high levels of carbon and manganese. Sharpening 1095 steel is easy, even for blades that have been coated or heat-treated. 1095 steel needs to be cleaned frequently and kept away from wet environments.

Leather Sheaths pull moisture out of the air and tend to rust knife blades if not stored properly. When you are done using the knife, stored it away from the leather and put " CAR ENGINE OIL " Seal 1, or a similar product on the blade and store.

Damascus Steel, 1095 High Carbon Steel, and D2 Steel can rust and develop stainsif not lubricated.
