Published in 1914 by Christian Klackner. Engraved in mezzotint by Elizabeth Eleanor Milner, after Sir Thomas Lawrence. Printed in colours. Signed in pencil E Milner lower right. Produced as a limited edition with the original plate destroyed.
Elizabeth Eleanor Milner,1861-1954 was well known for her engravings of classic paintings and portraits.
This work is also held by the National Trust. Their signed limited edition is on display at Mount Stewart, County Down. National Trust Collection website reference number 1656150. The original oil painting by Sir Thomas Lawrence is on display at Mount Stewart. National Trust Collection reference 1542309:
Lady Amelia (Emily) Anne Hobart, Viscountess Castlereagh, later Marchioness of Londonderry (1772-1829) by Sir Thomas Lawrence, PRA (Bristol 1769 – London 1830), 1794. A three-quarter-length portrait of the wife of Robert, 2nd Marquess of Londonderry, nearly full-length, in a white dress with a blue sash, her hair bound by a white fillet, her right hand behind her back.
A separate piece by a different engraver after the original by Sir Thomas Lawrence was also published in 1914 It is held at the National Portrait Gallery London and can be viewed on their website under reference: NPG D37422.
